Are you a postgraduate or early career researcher here at the University of Sussex, interested in sharing your thoughts and insights to help shape a more impactful research culture? 

In collaboration with the Developing Business-Aware Academics project, we are running focus groups during September to hear from researchers at the start of their careers about their perceptions of translating research into impact by engaging with partners and stakeholders beyond academia.

The focus group will take place on:

Date: Tuesday 23 September

Time: 1pm-4pm

Location: Bramber House 233

Come along to network with your colleagues over coffee and cake and share your insights on the barriers, motivators, and enablers you face when doing this work! 

Your thoughts will help shape the work being done by @ Developing Business-Aware Academics to empower academic researchers to engage beyond academia and transform their ideas into actions. 

What’s involved? 

• A single 2-hour in-person focus group 
• Informal and confidential discussion with fellow researchers 
• A chance to reflect on your experiences, challenges, and successes 
• Participants will receive a small thank you gift/voucher in appreciation of their time 

Who can take part? 

We are looking for: 

• Postgraduate and early career researchers from any discipline 
• With any level of experience engaging (or not engaging) with non-academic organisations
