Biography

I am a Visiting Research Fellow in Policy and Governance at the Centre for the Study of Corruption (CSC). My research work specializes in Jordanian public administration and government, evaluating processes of governance reform, namely decentralization, collaborative governance, corruption, and government stewardship. Set against the background of the complex socio-political challenges that shape institutional change in the Middle-east, I am particularly interested in investigating the effectiveness of western governance models when placed in informal and socially-influenced political systems such as in Jordan.

Alongside my Research work at Sussex, I am also a Lecturer in Leadership and Management at De Montfort University.

Throughout my research years, I have developed proficiency in planning, conducting and analyzing elite interviews with senior public officials, and thus have strong interest in developing existing methodologies for negotiating access to government elite, effectively conducting elite interviews, and analyzing their discursive strategies.
