A year's refurbishment work culminated this week with the launch of new catering and retail facilities on the ground floor and first floor of Bramber House.
The lively Eat Central catering area on the ground floor incorporates four different styles of eatery, offering 'grab & go' snacks, made-to-order sandwiches and rolls, a tapas style choice of dishes and hot food.
"We're delighted with the transformation from coffee shop to culinary centre of creativity," says Sarah Wilkinson, Commercial Operations Manager in Residential, Sport & Trading Services.
Elsewhere on the ground floor, a new, large Co-op supermarket has opened in the space previously occupied by the newsagent, McColl's, post office, Baguette Express and toilets.
And full refurbishment of the first-floor restaurant has created Dine Central, a flexible space with different styles of dining service (buffet counter service - offering hot and cold dishes, a salad bar, etc - or plated banqueting service).
"The aim is to create a relaxed dining experience with comfortable seating," says Sarah.
There is also a dedicated coffee bar/wine bar area.
The overall aim has been to create new and innovative facilities with a contemporary feel: flexible space with a broader range of catering services to meet the requirements of all customers, including students, staff, conference delegates and visitors.
