Matters of the Heart: A Valentine's Day event with BSMS
Saturday 14 February 19:45 until 21:30
Brighton & Hove : Fabrica, 40 Duke Street, Brighton, BN1 1AG
Speaker: BSMS Anatomy team
This Valentine’s Day, join Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) for a unique scientific experience – opening up the secrets of the heart.
BSMS's Anatomy team will be at Fabrica, in central Brighton, for a live, hands-on exploration of the heart – as they guide you through the inner workings of this incredible organ. You’ll see how blood flows through its chambers, discover the “real” heartstrings, and learn what makes it beat.
You’ll even have the chance to get hands-on. With guidance from medical staff and students, you can explore a lamb heart yourself and see anatomy in action.
After the dissection, stay for a Q&A with the experts, where you can ask questions about the heart, its functions and the science behind it.
Dissections use lamb hearts only; no human material is involved. All animal material is ethically and sustainably sourced.
Suitable for ages 16+. All ticket proceeds will support the Sussex Heart Charity.
Doors and bar open from 7.45pm for an 8pm start on Saturday 14 February.
Tickets from £5 (+ £1 booking fee) via Fabrica's website: book now >
