Dr Joanna Abeyie MBE CC
Dr Joanna Abeyie MBE CC is a multi-award-winning entrepreneur, civic leader and thought leader in People & Culture, EDIA (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Accessibility), strategy, organisational design, governance and data. She is Managing Director of Blue Moon & Partners, a consultancy driving values-led change across sectors. She was formerly Head of Creative Diversity at the BBC, shaping inclusion standards. She founded Hyden (part of SThree Group) and Shine Media, and co-founded the Elevation Networks Charitable Trust, opening pathways for underrepresented talent. Joanna authored and delivered the Transition Strategy for the National Police Race Action Plan (NPCC), led the Lenny Henry Centre’s review of the BBC’s EDIA commitments, and developed the first industry-wide accessibility framework for broadcasting and streaming.
As an author and commentator, Joanna has written Inclusion Needs You and How to Mitigate the Invisible Business Risk (Pearson), writes for The Times and Raconteur, is a UN Women Everyday Ally, and is a TEDx speaker on social mobility. Her achievements include an MBE for services to diversity and inclusion, the Freedom of the City of London, admission as a Liverywoman of the Haberdashers’ Company, a Distinguished Graduate Award and an Honorary Doctorate.
