Update on our partnership with Adecco

Following the recent introduction of our new managed service provider Adecco, we have received lots of feedback and we’re grateful to colleagues for sharing their experiences.
As with any major change, there have been some early challenges, and we appreciate everyone’s patience while the service beds in. We are working closely with Adecco to make improvements and ensure that any outstanding issues are resolved as quickly as possible.
We remain confident that Adecco is the right partner to provide Sussex with temporary and casual workers now and into the future. The partnership will bring us an adaptive service continuously tailored to meet evolving needs, that reduces the time to hire new staff, accurate invoicing and robust supply chain management.
Early benefits from this collaboration are beginning to emerge, and we expect further improvements as the service continues to stabilise. Their commitment to continuous service refinement is aligned with our goals, and we’re encouraged by the progress so far.
Thank you to everyone involved in supporting this transition and helping us build a responsive workforce solution.
A note from Adecco to the University:
Dear University Colleagues,
I hope this message finds you well.
We want to extend our sincere apologies for the service shortcomings you are experiencing and fully recognise that the level of service provided does not meet your expectations, or our own standards.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen a very high volume of queries coming through to the Adecco inbox. While the team is committed to responding as quickly as possible, this has meant that on some occasions our response times have not been as fast as we’d like. To support this, we’ve brought in additional team members so we can be more responsive moving forward.
Making the Most of the Solution
In late August and early September, Adecco delivered a number of training sessions both group and one-to-one. We know not everyone was able to attend, and this has understandably created some uncertainty about how best to engage with our systems and process.
To support colleagues, we’ve uploaded user guides, and an initial FAQs to the University Finance pages. We encourage everyone to explore the current resources, as following the recommended processes will help us deliver a faster, smoother service for all.
The FAQs will continue to develop during this transitional phase, supported by user video guides as we refine and improve the solution. If you or your team would benefit from additional or refresher training, or any service support, we’d be happy to arrange it. Please get in touch with our team at universityofsussex@adecco.co.uk.
We fully appreciate how busy this period is across the University, and we are working closely with HR and Procurement colleagues to stabilise the service to ensure the solution works as effectively as possible for you.
We value our partnership with you and thank you for your patience and continued collaboration. If there is anything further, we can do to support you or address specific concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
By working together and making use of the tools and guidance available, we can improve both the efficiency and the overall experience of the service.
Warm regards,
Jess Hardie
