David Wallace is currently editing a book called National Epics for Oxford University Press, and his presentation will be based on this project, which is transhistorical and global in scope, involving 90 collaborators worldwide. It is developing in tandem with the website nationalepics.com. "National Epics explores the roles of literature, selectively deployed, in constructing hard borders of nationalism. This is a project in globality, but one that recognizes that nationalism remains a defining feature of our world." (source: https://www.english.upenn.edu/people/david-wallace)
