Pensions re-enrolment in June

Every three years the University is obliged to re-assess its staff for enrolment into a pension scheme. This is a statutory employer duty which the University must undertake.
Pension re-enrolment applies to most staff, although with some exclusions. It means that those staff not already in a pension scheme may find themselves enrolled into a pension scheme in the June payroll. Pension re-enrolment will affect most staff who have previously been in a pension scheme even if they have previously opted out of membership.
At the end of June the Pensions Team will be writing to those staff enrolled into a pension scheme in the June payroll, including those who have been re-enrolled. For those staff affected a letter will be sent via email advising of the pension enrolment and providing relevant information.
It is recommended that staff not currently in a pension scheme check their payslips in My View to see if they have been re-enrolled into a pension scheme, especially when they might have previously opted out of pension scheme membership.
If you have any questions about pension re-enrolment, or about your pension more generally, please contact Pensions Manager, Tracey Llewellyn, or email the Pensions Team at: pensions@sussex.ac.uk
