A second Sussex student this month has won a gold medal at a national student sports competition. 

Elisabeth Brama, a Physics and Astronomy student who receives a sports bursary from Sussex, finished first at the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) 10 Mile Time Trial Championships (cycling) in Oxford on Saturday 25 April. 

Elisabeth won with a time of 24 minutes and 25 seconds, just eight days after fellow Sussex student Emily Llewellyn clinched the BUCS title for three-day eventing. 

Luke Terrill, Sports Development Officer at Sussex, was quick to congratulate both students. He said: "After waiting years for a female BUCS individual winner, we have two in a week. This is an awesome achievement." 

Elisabeth, a triathlete, will compete in the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii this October after winning her age group in the half Ironman triathlon in Monaco last summer.
