The paper, titled Institutional Distance and Subsidiary Performance: Climbing up vs. Climbing down the Institutional Ladder,explores the role played by institutional distance - the contrasts in institutional operation in different countries - in determining the performance of subsidiaries relative to their parent Multinational Corporations (MNCs).
Dr Shirodkar and co-author Dr Palitha Konara (University of Huddersfield) tracked the performance of 2199 firms over a 12-year period during their study.
