Research Assistant opportunity within Caring for Caregivers (C4C) research study

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Research and Development team for a full time Research Assistant. This will be a fixed term position for 12 months. The Research Assistant will support the delivery of the Caring for Caregivers (C4C) research study, which aims to evaluate a positive writing intervention (Positive Written Disclosure) for older adult caregivers of people with psychosis symptoms.
The successful candidate will join a vibrant and innovative research team, and have the opportunity to work with both the Research and Development department and the Brighton and Sussex Medical School. Under supervision, the post holder will help to ensure successful delivery of the research study in Sussex through recruitment, and the assessment and interviewing of research participants. The post holder will have the additional responsibility of inputting data, and transcribing recordings of interviews.
We are seeking applicants who are motivated and enthusiastic about research. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, combining sensitivity and empathy, in order to effectively and respectfully engage caregivers in the research study. They will be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with members of the research team and other professionals – both clinical and from the third sector. They will work well under pressure and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Experience of both quantitative and qualitative research methods is desirable. We will support candidates who have interest and enthusiasm to progress their career as researchers as appropriate for the role.
This post will require extensive travel across Sussex and therefore mobility to travel across sites is essential.
