Staff from across campus demonstrated their beach volleyball skills at the annual staff volleyball tournament on Tuesday (5 July).

Six teams took part in the competition, which is now in its second year, held at Yellowave beach sports venue on the seafront near Brighton Marina.

ITS won the tournament, with Sussex Innovation Centre’s team coming second and Sussexsport’s own Active US team taking third place.

The six teams in the tournament were:

• Active US
• Life Sciences
• Careers and Employability Centre
• Communications

Roger Ballance from ITS was on the winning team and praised the event, commenting that: “It was really good fun - as always - thanks to everyone who organised and refereed.”  

Sussexsport’s summer drop-in beach volleyball sessions for staff are finishing next Thursday (21 July). So if you’ve been meaning to try out beach volleyball, or want to polish your skills ready for next year's tournament, now is the time! The evening session runs from 6pm-8pm at Yellowave and no experience is needed.
