Celebrating Local Produce: Lewes Company - Golden Cross Cheese
Enjoy some proper local produce as SussexFood celebrate local Golden Cross Cheese Company. This family owned business from down the road in Lewes has been producing speciality award winning goat's and sheep's cheeses on the farm since 1989.
To wow everyone with their Golden Cross' Goats Cheese, we will be serving a Goats Cheese Warm Salad, with New Potatoes, Roasted Butternut Squash and Baby Leaf, with Homemade Chutney and Freshly Baked Baguette Wedge
And if you're really into your cheesy descriptions here's what Golden Cross say about their own cheese:
"All the cheeses are soft, mould ripened and made with unpasteurised milk. They contain vegetarian rennet and are hand made, from ladling the curd to final wrapping.
GOLDEN CROSS is a St Maure style cheese made daily on the farm from the milk of our own herd of goats. Each log is lightly charcoaled and becomes denser, creamier and fuller flavoured as it matures".
