James Hakner, Communications Officer in the Press and Communications Office, has been put forward for a national award.

In 2011 James got a distinction on the Internal Communication Certificate awarded by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) – so now he’s in line for a trophy and certificate from the PR Academy, which teaches the course.  

James will find out if he’s won at an awards ceremony on 8 February, when Ken Livingstone will be the guest speaker.  

The syllabus on the six-month, part-time Internal Communication Certificate includes strategy and tactics for internal communication, tone of voice in written and verbal communication, social media for internal communication, and evaluating internal communication.
