We are delighted to announce the 2026 Symposium, taking place on 19 February 2026 at the University of Sussex campus in Falmer, UK.
Hosted jointly by the Bennett Institute for Innovation & Policy Acceleration and the Sussex Energy Group, this year’s theme is:
“Zero Hour for Energy Policy: Researching the Race to Net Zero.”
The Symposium will explore the pressing issues and challenges that underpin the acceleration of climate change policies.
The opening plenary address by Professor Dr Dirk Messner, President of UBA Germany, will outline European approaches to the environment. The day will also feature expert panels on what’s in store over the next cycle of IPCC reports and the Symposium Keynote, delivered by Barry Gardiner MP will explore threats to nature and humanity from the perspective of normal people, demonstrating how confused economics fuels incoherent policy. He will be joined by Dr Caroline Lucas, writer, campaigner, and former Green Party MP, as keynote discussant and panel speaker.
The Symposium is free to attend, but places are limited so please register now.
