Student Recruitment and Marketing

International Office

The international team is responsible for developing and implementing the University's strategy for international partnerships, cooperation and student recruitment.

Our Making the Future strategy sets ambitious targets for the recruitment of overseas students until 2018. With that in mind, we are working to accelerate growth; together with colleagues from academic schools and departments.

The strategy also sets out important new aims for the development of international partnerships, led by the International Office team.

The Sussex Abroad team - within the International Office - are responsible for incoming and outgoing international student mobility, which is of increasing interest to UK students joining the University with 1 in 5 of our undergraduates undertaking a period of study overseas.

In addition, the team co-ordinate staff mobility through European Erasmus programmes where additional funding can be sourced to support activities.

Our marketing, recruitment & development staff manage the University’s profile and recruitment strategy in six regions:

    • Africa and Middle East: including Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia
