The River Ouse Project

Welcome to The River Ouse Project

Combining ecological research with historical studies to show how land might be managed to achieve biodiversity objectives linked to flood alleviation.

The project focuses on grassland and woodland habitats in the upper reaches of the river Ouse in Sussex. Flood alleviation depends on temporarily holding back water here until water from lower down the system has passed through.
