Research

Dr. Balaji Ganeshan current research interests include advanced medical image processing techniques in cancer and non-cancer imaging aimed at improvements in diagnosis and prognosis. In particular he has developed a novel (Patent applied for) computer-assisted disease risk stratification technique based on texture (Tex) analysis of radiological (RAD) images obtained from different imaging techniques such as CT, mammography and MR. Further interests include statistical model based computer simulation of human tissues, imaged by these imaging modalities.

Dr. Balaji Ganeshan has presented his research work on texture analysis in medical imaging in local, national and international conferences. He has published 23 refereed patent, journal and conference publications in this research area. He is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), British Machine Vision Association (BMVA) and the European Society of Radiology (ESR). He has also been nominated for Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare
