John Maynard Smith Centenary Symposium

The year 2020 marks one hundred years since the birth of John Maynard Smith, a renowned evolutionary biologist who founded the School of Life Sciences at the University of Sussex. To commemorate his life and work, the School is hosting a special symposium.

This event has been postponed. A new date will be announced and shared here in due course.

Alongside talks covering John Maynard Smith's areas of research - such as the evolution of sex and animal communication - there will be opportunity for personal reminiscences of working with John.

Speakers at the event include Ed Feil, Eors Szathmary, Susan Riechert and other colleagues of John's.
