The political map of modern Europe is changing rapidly and fundamentally.
On this module, you’ll compare and analyse European politics, mapping changes and identifying constants.
Instead of taking a country-by-country approach, you’ll address key themes that shape politics in general and Europe in particular.
You’ll explore key comparative questions about governance across Europe, including:
- institutions of politics
- how society and politics interacts.

- Identify key features in the political institutions and processes of politics in European countries
- Explore some of the common challenges facing European governments and their citizens
- Relate abstract schemas and models to empirical examples in European politics
