Spring teaching

You will examine the ways legal systems seek to control the problem of corruption and bribery.

The module initially focuses on the regulation of bribery in domestic law, examining the Bribery Act 2010.

It then examines the domestic law of other national jurisdictions before turning to consider the position under international law. It focuses on anti-corruption agreements including the United Nations Convention Against Corruption and the United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organised Crime.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 300 hours of work. This breaks down into about 22 hours of contact time and about 278 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2023/24.
