The first newsletter of 2025/26 academic year comes packed with news and celebrations including details of three new major initiatives:
- The SHL Digital Early Career Researcher & PostDoc Network, led by Avey Nelson, which convened for its inaugural meeting earlier this month.
- Publication of a newly developed Code of Conduct, reinforcing SHL Digital’s commitment to an inclusive and respectful research environment.
- A monthly writing hub, providing a dedicated space for researchers to advance their writing goals.
We take a peek at how SHL Digital is organised, and we celebrate the publication of SHL Digital’s Strategy 2025–2030 which focuses on creating positive and lasting impacts on our research environment and contribute towards Sussex 2035 goal of creating progressive futures.
SHL Digital’s international presence continues to grow. Sharon Webb, joint-director, has been elected to the governing body of the UK-Ireland Digital Humanities Association. And we welcome two new researcher joining our recent major European projects: Milan Terlunen who joins Hannah Field’s PromPrint European Research Council (ERC) project, and Lucy Sabin who has joined Alice Eldridge’s RURALEX team (HERA - CHANSE funded).
Looking ahead, the Digital Methods Accelerator returns next semester after a first term of "sold out" sessions, with an exciting lineup of workshops. Registration will open in the new year.
