Sussex Law School student named Sports Personality of the Year

There was success for Sussex Law School at the Students’ Union Student Awards last month, when student George Folarin was named Sports Personality of the Year.
George, who is undertaking a Law with Business degree at Sussex, picked up the award for his involvement in basketball as Captain of the University team.
He was presented with the award during the Students’ Union Student Awards Ceremony, which was held at the AMEX Stadium on 17 April 2015.
Speaking after the ceremony, George said: “Playing for Sussex has been one of my greatest honours so far.
“To lead my University team and help us work towards our goals has given me great pride and it’s a feeling I will miss upon leaving.”
He added: “Being nominated for the award was a shock in itself, but to win over the other well-deserving nominees was not only a great feeling, but a reminder that anything is possible with hard work.”
