Job description

The School of Media, Arts and Humanities at the University of Sussex wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Journalism (Education and Scholarship) for a fixed-term position of nine months from 1 January 2024. This post will contribute to developing teaching and scholarship in journalism in the department of Media, Journalism and Cultural Studies.

The successful candidate will possess a completed doctorate in a relevant academic discipline (or have evidence of equivalent advanced professional experience), have teaching experience in HE and be able to help develop journalism scholarship at the University of Sussex.

You will join a flourishing, collegial department with a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research on media, and will teach an intellectually ambitious undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum. Excellent communication skills and evidence of ability to work productively as part of a friendly, team-oriented department are essential skills for this position.
