How to accept our job offer
Before you start at Sussex, you must complete and return all documents stated. If you need visa sponsorship, you also need to send us further information.
Information to return
Before you start, you must complete and return:
- the Staff Record / Acceptance Form. This is how you accept the job offer
- the medical questionnaire to our occupational health providers
- an Incoming Materials and Equipment form (this only applies to certain applicants).
Right to work (visa) requirements
Applicants not working in the UK
If you need visa sponsorship to work in the UK and we have sufficient evidence to support the issue of a Certificate of Sponsorship under the UK Visa & Immigration (UKVI) points-based system, we will apply for a restricted Certificate of Sponsorship.
You must send us:
- a completed personal details form
- a scanned copy of your highest degree certificate
- any relevant professional registration documents
- your passport and all previous UK visa documents held.
When we are satisfied with all the information you provide, and by the recruiting department, we apply for a restricted Certificate of Sponsorship from the Home Office.
We will email you the details as soon as we have approval and are able to assign a Certificate of Sponsorship to you.
You must apply in your country of residence to obtain entry clearance to the UK before you travel. Do not arrange to travel to the UK until you have this clearance.
When you arrive in the UK, you must collect your biometric residence permit. UKVI will send you details of when and where to collect your permit from.
You must present your permit to the Human Resources (HR) Division in person, where a copy will be retained on your file.
Applicants already working or studying in the UK
If you already hold an eligible visa, and we have sufficient evidence to support the issue of a Certificate of Sponsorship under the UKVI points-based system, we will start the process of issuing an unrestricted Certificate of Sponsorship.
You must send us:
- a completed personal details form
- a scanned copy of your highest degree certificate
- any relevant professional registration documents
- your passport and all previous UK visa documents held (either stamps in your passport(s), or biometric residence permit card(s)).
When we are satisfied with all information provided by you, and by the recruiting department we would issue a Certificate of Sponsorship to you by email. You must then apply to extend your leave to remain in the UK.
