Job description

The School of Life Sciences at the University of Sussex is at the forefront of research in the UK. In the recent Research Excellence Framework assessment (REF 2021), 100% of our Impact cases in Biological Sciences and Chemistry were rated as world-leading or internationally excellent. The School has received substantial recent University investment and is embarking on an exciting and extensive muti-million pound refurbishment and improvement project.

We wish to appoint a Lecturer (Up to Grade 8) within the Department of Evolution, Behaviour and Environment (EBE). The appointee will be expected to develop and active research programme in evolution, ecology or behaviour, and to teach relevant to their expertise and Departmental needs.

The department is part of the School of Life Sciences. Current areas of research in the Department include: evolutionary theory, epidemiology, conservation biology, pollination and physiological ecology, animal behaviour and cognition, and social insects. We have links with the Sussex Sustainability Research Programme, Sussex Neuroscience and The Brighton and Sussex Medical School. We encourage applications in the areas of molecular ecology, evolution and animal behaviour
