Entrepreneurship is viewed as a process to provide sustainable economic, social and institutional change. Module content is limited to entrepreneurship in a small business context.

Module learning outcomes

  • Evaluate the economic and social significance of smaller enterprises.
  • Systematically understand the factors that influence the creation, growth and closure of small enterprises.
  • Comment upon current research on the role of innovation, entrepreneurial finance and the working environment of small firms.
  • Critically evaluate the role of government in creating an environment in which entrepreneurs and small enterprises can thrive.
