Biography
When I graduated from the high school, I was fascinated by English Literature. In 1995, I join the Department of European Literature in King Abdul Aziz University (KAAU) in Saudi Arabia. I graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Arts in 1999. However, while I was doing my undergraduate studies, I attended seminars in language teaching. Through these seminars, my relation with EFL starts. I used to teach language voluntarily in some classes in KAAU to Arab students. So after I graduated I join a comprehensive school and taught English language for secondary school Arab students for two years. I liked language teaching at then but it was not the challenge I was looking for. I have always thought that there was a problem some where in the way language taught at that setting.
At early 2001, I left the public education to teach language for more specific purposes. I joined an electricity company training institute. I worked there for six years. When I was there I develop interests in evaluating language programs as I was senior teacher in that institute. In 2004, I obtained a master degree in English Language Teaching from the University of Exeter. My area of interest was in language program evaluating.
In May 2006, I was invited to teach and assist in developing an English Language Curriculum in King Saud University. My colleagues and I have discovered some issues in the curriculum that need to be dealt with. I made a decision to look at the impact of the language program in Student in that particular setting.
