Breaking nexus among landlessness, poverty and lack of quality education in rural Pakistan: The "SUCCESS" approach

Thursday 26 October 13:00 until 14:00
Essex House Seminar Room 18
Speaker: Dr Abdur Rehman Cheema, Charles Wallace Research Fellow, Cardiff University, UK
Part of the series: CIE Research Cafe

This event is hosted by the Centre for International Education (CIE)

In this presentation Abdur will draw on the research work undertaken during the implementation of an ongoing European Union funded six-year programme titled “The Sindh Union Council and Economic Strengthening Support (SUCCESS)” in eight districts of the southern province of Pakistan (2015-2021). He will share the complex challenges such as extreme poverty, landlessness, child labour, early marriage, weak governance and the holistic community-driven development (CDD) approach adopted by the SUCCESS to improve education and other quality of life outcomes.
