Pint of Science Festival: A Night of Big Physics
What are we made of? How did the first stars form — and why does the universe exist at all?
For one night, science leaves the lab and heads to the pub.
Pint of Science is a global festival where researchers share their work in a relaxed, informal setting — no jargon, no lectures, just big ideas and conversation.
Join three researchers from Sussex's Faculty of Science, Engineering and Medicine for an evening of big physics, from the tiniest particles to the first galaxies:
- Prof Steve Willkins – First Light: the formation of the first stars, black holes and galaxies
- Dr Alice King – Nano Matters: the surprising history of nanomaterials and how we’re using them today
- Dr Kate Shaw – Weird Particles and Why the Universe Shouldn’t Exist
No physics background needed — just curiosity (and maybe a drink)
Tickets are £5 (limited availability). FIND OUT MORE AND BOOK YOUR TICKETS HERE
