Autumn teaching
What does it mean to flourish and to live well?
In this module, you’ll explore key ideas and practices on human flourishing. You’ll address flourishing as a diverse, relational and multidimensional experience.
You’ll examine:
- biological, psychological, social, cultural and environmental impacts on flourishing
- how wellbeing varies across different groups, life stages and places globally
- how political, economic and community institutions support or constrain people’s opportunities to thrive
- opportunities to thrive in business, arts, education, healthcare and work.
You’ll use different disciplines to understand what helps people live connected and fulfilling lives. You’ll explore what inhibits this, including socio-economic inequalities and discrimination.
You’ll develop skills to consider flourishing in creative, inclusive, just and democratic ways.
