Linguistic Consultancy (Q3000)

15 credits, Level 6

Autumn teaching

English language and linguistic skills and knowledge can be applied in a wide range of careers. This includes search-engine optimisation and communication strategizing.

In this module, you’ll reflect on how to apply your knowledge to workplace challenges. You’ll complete a term-long placement, applying linguistic knowledge to a real workplace. Throughout the placement, you’ll comment on your workplace through a linguistic lens. In your final project, you’ll critically analyse this area, using theory and methods from your previous studies.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.

We’ll make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
