Autumn teaching

On this module, you’ll learn about the theory and practice of manufacturing.

You’ll explore:

different classes of materials
the process of making objects
the manufacturing of products
structure and properties of materials
AI-assisted manufacturing
sustainable materials and processes.

Through practical sessions, you’ll develop skills in:

laboratory analysis
workshop manufacturing
interpreting data
communication of technical findings.

You’ll use industry case studies to contextualise your learning.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
