On this module, you’ll learn to carry out clear and systematic business research. You’ll:
- explore qualitative and quantitative research methods
- learn how to design, carry out and review research projects
- build strong analytical skills
- learn how to collect, understand and present research data
- connect theory with real-world business practice
- break complex research problems into clear, practical investigations.
The module helps you develop curiosity, critical thinking and methodological precision. It prepares you to become a researcher who can inform understanding in organisations, and contribute to academic and professional discourse.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 33 hours of contact time and about 117 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
