Undergraduate Summer School

Study on one of the UK's longest established Summer School programmes. For over 30 years we have been offering academic modules in the summer, designed and delivered by our academic staff and faculty.

A summer to remember 

Study at the University of Sussex, recognised for the second consecutive year as the happiest university in the UK (Unifresher Happiest Universities 2027 Guide).

The Summer School has been teaching for over 30 years and is one of the most established Summer Schools in the UK. There are two summer sessions, and you’ll study one module over a three-week session. You can attend one or both sessions. Each module is assessed and carries 15 Sussex credits. Find out more about teaching structure, assessments and credits.

In your free time explore the exciting city of Brighton, or even a night out or weekend in London, only one hour by train from Brighton.  

Brighton was voted 8th in the world's best cities for nightlife. It tied for the second-highest nightlife rating (83 per cent) and, after New York, was the city most likely to be described as both 'lively' and 'diverse and inclusive'. The city even ranked higher than London, and is the only UK city in the top 10 of The World’s Best Cities for Nightlife in 2026 according to Time Out.
