Definition of a complete application

A complete application is one where all required academic and supporting documentation has been submitted and the applicant meets the stated entry requirements.

Applications that are incomplete may not be reviewed until all required information has been received.

  • Entry requirements

Entry requirements vary by course and level of study. Find a course.

    You should ensure that:

    • the student meets the academic requirements for their chosen course
    • English language requirements are satisfied
    • any country-specific requirements are taken into account.

Full entry requirement details for your market can be found on our information by country pages

  • Required documentation

To support efficient processing, applications should include all required documentation at the point of submission.

    This typically includes:

    • academic transcripts and certificates
    • proof of English language proficiency (where required)
    • personal statement (where applicable)
    • passport copy
    • any additional course-specific requirements.
  • Submitting applications

When submitting applications, please ensure that:

    • all documents are clear, legible and correctly labelled
    • information provided is accurate and consistent
    • the correct course and intake are selected.

Incomplete or incorrect submissions may delay processing.

  • What happens next

Once a complete application has been received:

    • the application will be reviewed by Admissions
    • additional information may be requested if required
    • a decision will be made based on academic criteria.

You can track progress through the agreed application system.

  • Supporting your applicants

To support successful applications, you should:

    • ensure students understand entry requirements before applying
    • check documentation before submission
    • set clear expectations on timelines and next steps
    • respond promptly to any requests from Sussex.

Common causes of delay

  • missing or incomplete documentation
  • incorrect or unclear documents
  • applications submitted without meeting entry requirements
  • delays in responding to requests for additional information.
