Gaverne will be explaining how if we can learn the lessons in the way race/ethnicity interacted at the end of the nineteenth/early twentieth century in time then AI can be harnessed to service everybody without leaving Black people in the cold as has happened in the past.
He wrote The Guardian's most successful wall chart series The Black History timeline and The British Library's Black Literature timeline that went to every UK secondary school. He also created The ITV Black History TV timeline as well as creating a range of timelines for primary schools for Hope Education on subjects like African Civilisations before 1500.
He is currently doing a PhD at Leicester university researching The Black Cultural Archives (BCA) in Brixton. The BCA is the only national heritage institution dedicated to collecting, preserving and collecting the histories of African and Caribbean descent in the UK.
