Science Day at the 2026 Steyning Festival
Our researchers often spend their free time attending public events and delivering free talks, demonstrations and hands-on science activities for local communities.
Recently our Co-Director prof. Thomas Nowotny delivered keynote talk on Science Day at the 2026 Steyning Festival. The programme featured a broad range of acts and performances from the worlds of comedy, theatre, literature and the visual arts, plus walks and tours, Downland, arts and science days and much more besides.
Steyning Festival is one of the largest — if not THE largest — festival in the UK run entirely by volunteers, with a small group of trustees overseeing the Festival as a whole.
If you are organising a similar community event and would be interested in hosting one of our researchers, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please get in touch at ai@sussex.ac.uk.
