Managing your online researcher profiles: building visibility (online)
Online researcher profiles play an important role in raising the visibility of your research, demonstrating its impact. and helping you connect with collaborators and a wider audience.
This workshop introduces the key platforms used to create and manage researcher profiles and explores how they can support your professional reputation and raise research visibility.
Focusing on Elements, the University of Sussex's research information system, the workshop will demonstrate how to build and maintain an effective profile to present your research, professional , publication and teaching activities. Participants will have the opportunity to review and update their own profile during the workshop.
By the end of the workshop you will be able to:
- Recognize the role of online profiles in enhancing research visibility and credibility
- Identify key platforms for creating and managing an online researcher profile
- Create an ORCID ID
- Apply best practices in curating your University of Sussex Elements profile
- Locate sources of guidance and support

About the facilitator
The Library Research Support team support researchers at all levels across the University. They offer bookable one-to-one sessions tailored to suit your specific research needs, run various group training workshops, and organise seminars and events to engage with the research community on campus.

Propose an exhibition or event
We welcome proposals from University of Sussex colleagues to co-produce exhibitions and/or events in designated spaces in our buildings. If you wish to propose or design an exhibition for spaces within the Library and any associated digital or event activities that accompany an exhibition, please complete the Exhibition and events application form and submit to us by uploading below.
Applications should be submitted with at least six months’ notice for exhibitions and three months' notice for events in advance of the proposed start date and require relevant sign-off at Associate Dean, Executive Dean or Director of Professional Services level. This application should be completed in conjunction with the Exhibition and Events process document.
