Partner highlight: Wilfrid Laurier University

Our articulation agreement with Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU) is one of our most successful, with over 100 students currently studying at Sussex as a result. The partnership is a six-year, dual-degree program, with students working towards a BA/BSc from WLU and a Law LLB from Sussex.

The first two years are spent at Laurier after which students come to Sussex for three years and complete their Sussex Law degree. For the final year, students return to Canada to complete their WLU degree, and take accreditation prep-classes.

Staff from Sussex and Wilfrid Laurier work closely with one another to ensure students are fully prepared for their time in the UK, something that is key to the program’s success.

There is also collaboration on recruitment events, with Sussex and WLU staff visiting each other’s campus several times each year.

Drawing from the strength of our articulation collaboration in Law, since 2018 Wilfrid Laurier and Sussex established a bilateral mobility partnership to send and receive semester and year-long students between our institutions.
