FAQs

  • Should my paper be complete when I submit?

No. Draft papers are welcome, provided they present a clear research question, methodology and preliminary or completed results.

  • Can I submit work that is under review at a journal?

Yes. Papers currently under review or being prepared for journal submission are welcome.

  • Can PhD students submit papers?

Yes. PhD students are welcome to submit.

  • Can Masters students submit papers?

We mainly expect submissions from doctoral researchers, postdoctoral researchers and other Early Career Researchers.

Such submissions will be considered on their academic merit.

  • Do I need to be registered on a finance degree or PhD programme?

No. We welcome high-quality finance research regardless of your academic department.

Researchers from disciplines such as computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering and operations research are encouraged to submit, provided your work makes a significant contribution to finance.

This is particularly relevant as areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain and financial technology increasingly bring together researchers from multiple disciplines.

  • Can researchers working outside universities submit papers?

Yes. Early Career Researchers working in industry, central banks, regulatory bodies and other organisations are welcome, provided you satisfy the conferences Early Career Researcher eligibility criteria; that is, no more than five years should have passed since the award of your doctoral degree.

  • Can I submit more than one paper?

Yes, although each submission will be reviewed independently, and the Organising Committee reserves the right to limit the number of presentations by any one author.
