    A-level requirements: Preview A-level grades on Tuesday 16 August 2022.

    Subject requirements: A-level Chemistry at grade B. If you are taking a science subject that has the separate science practical assessment, we would normally expect a pass.

    GCSE requirements: Good GCSE profile which must include GCSE Mathematics grade 5/B

    Typical Clearing requirements

    • International Baccalaureate Diploma
      Score required: at least 28 points overall, including Higher Level grade 5 in Chemistry
    • BTEC Level 3 National Extended diploma
      Grades required: DMM.
      Subjects required: Applied Science with substantial numbers of modules in Biology and Chemistry related topics
    • BTEC Level 3 National Diploma + 1 A-level
      Grades required: Merit, Merit + B
      Subjects required: A-level Chemistry at grade B 
    • BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate + 2 A-levels
      Grades required: Merit + BC in A-levels
      Subjects required: A-level Chemistry at grade B
    • Access to HE Diploma
      Required: Reviewed on a case by case basis. Normally require a strong profile including a minimum of 15 distinctions and substantial merits.
      Subjects required: successful applicants need to demostrate A-level standard Chemistry

    All successful applicants whose first language is not English will need to evidence English language ability.
