Evaluation Essentials Session 9: Qualitative Evaluation Data Analysis
Wednesday 11 March 12:00 until 14:00
Online
Speaker: Jenny Diggins
Part of the series: Evaluation essentials training programme
This workshop is for staff who want to understand and work with qualitative data in a clear, practical way. We’ll explore how qualitative analysis transforms raw data, such as interview transcripts, into meaningful findings by identifying patterns, themes, and differences in participants’ experiences.
The session is highly practical, with short exercises using small extracts of data to practise coding and develop themes. It includes a short introduction to NVivo for coding qualitative data, along with accessible analytic approaches such as framework-based analysis (using simple categories to organise your data) and thematic analysis (allowing patterns and themes to emerge from the data).
By the end of the workshop, you will:
- Understand how qualitative analysis supports credible evaluation findings
- Gain confidence in organising, coding, and interpreting qualitative data, including using NVivo.
You do not need to have gone to session 8 to atten this session.
