Book an information session
Our next session is on Wednesday 12 November from 5pm-7pm. During the information evening, you will:
- learn more about the support we offer to mature students
- find out about welfare and finances
- get tips for your personal statement
- go on a guided campus tour.
We will provide refreshments.

Our Open Days give you a taste of life at Sussex. Learn more about our courses, chat to current students, attend talks led by mature students and tour campus with our ambassadors.
Before Sussex: Widening Participation support
Visit the Transition to Sussex page to find out about the events and support on offer for 2026 Sussex offer holders. As part of this, on Wednesday 24 June 2026 the Widening Participation team will be a running an event for contextual and mature offer holders. The day is designed to equip you with the necessary skills to thrive at university. Bookings will open in March 2026.

Book an information session
Get an insight into the rewards and challenges of returning to education as a mature student through our informal online information sessions. You can sign up to join as many events as you want. Each session will be delivered by University staff and a mature student ambassador.
- Life as a mature student, Thursday 14 November 6-7pm. Learn about the support we offer to mature students, find out about welfare, finances and DSA. Register for Life as a mature student.
- Student finance, Wednesday 11 February 6-7pm. Session includes how to apply, when to apply, information on Sussex bursaries and advice from a current student. Register for Student finance.
- Preparing for university, Thursday 21 May 6-7pm. Find out about UCAS Extra and Clearing, along with information on budgeting, accommodation and tips for preparing for academia. Register for Preparing for university.

1:1 UCAS personal statement support
Book a 1:1 appointment with a member of our Widening Participation team to get support and advice on your personal statement. We're offering 20 minute 1:1 ssessions for mature students looking to apply to Sussex. During your appointment, you can ask questions and get guidance on the structure and content of your personal statement. You'll need to bring a draft written copy of your personal statement to this session.
