Quantitative and Qualitative Methods (C8300)
15 credits, Level 5
Spring teaching
On this module, you'll develop a theoretical understanding and practical ability to implement and analyse diverse research methods, including qualitative designs, self-report surveys and observational research. You'll explore themes around measurement and methodological diversity within psychology.
The module includes an assessed empirical report using these research approaches. You'll benefit from practical workshops, which complement lectures by offering hands-on experience and various types of group work.
We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
We’ll make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
