Autumn teaching

The module equips you with the tools and knowledge to create a strategy for starting your career within the creative sector.

Within the module sessions, you will perform tasks and exercises to increase your awareness of your chosen area of the sector. Through varied research methods, you will perform case studies on existing business and organisations, become aware of emerging technologies with the field of practice, and produce an online strategy for networking, self-promotion and finding work.

The module concludes with you initiating and reflecting on a one-to-one conversation with an industry professional. Using this new knowledge and personal insight, you will be in a strong position to manage your future career prospects.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 15 hours of contact time and about 135 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology.
