Corruption and its Intersections: The Media, Sport, Environmental Governance and Gender (980M9)

30 credits, Level 7 (Masters)

Spring teaching

On this module, you’ll explore the relationship between corruption and:

  • the media
  • sport
  • environmental governance
  • gender.

These are vibrant areas of research, bringing with them instructive perspectives, ideas and cases, as well as lively debates that challenge mainstream ideas about corruption and corruption control.

You’ll examine the intersections between these issues, looking at a variety of views on how corruption manifests and the varied (and often unequal) distributions of harm it inflicts on individuals, group, institutions and societies.

From the effects of media capture on democratic discourses to the gendered dimensions of sexual corruption, this module engages with cutting-edge research and emerging issues in corruption studies.
