The deadline to submit abstracts is 27 November 2026.

Submission tracks

ORC 2027 has two separate submission tracks. Both tracks are included in the conference programme and accepted contributions from either track may be considered for oral or poster presentation.

The first submission track is a standard track for submitting full-length research papers on any of the topics above.

The second is a dedicated track for industry and deployment aspects. This track is intended for shorter contributions from industry and end-users focussed on industrial deployment, commercialisation, industrial case-studies, operational aspects and end-user experiences.

These submissions form a dedicated industry and deployment track within the conference programme and will be integrated alongside the research programme to encourage interaction between researchers, technology providers, project developers and end-users.

Research paper submissions

To present a research paper at ORC 2027, you will first need to submit a one-page abstract through the Conftool platform. Authors will receive automatic confirmation of submission through the ConfTool platform.

Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit a draft paper using the conference template. Draft papers will undergo peer review by the Scientific Committee. Authors will then be invited to submit a revised paper addressing the reviewers’ comments before final submission.

All research paper submissions will undergo peer review by the Scientific Committee to ensure high-quality contributions. All accepted papers from the conference will be published in the conference proceedings after the event. Selected papers may also be invited for submission to a dedicated special issue. Further details will be announced in due course.

  • Submission process and important dates
    • abstract submission deadline – 27 November 2026
    • notification of abstract acceptance – 18 December 2026
    • draft paper/poster submission – 26 February 2027
    • notification of draft paper review – 16 April 2027
    • revised paper/poster submission – 14 May 2027
    • notification of revised paper review – 18 June 2027
    • final submission deadline – 2 July 2027.

Dates are provisional and may change.

  • Abstract submission

Abstracts should briefly outline the main research issues, research method, results and conclusions as well as their general significance. References may be added.

There is no limit on the number of abstracts submitted per author. However, a maximum of two platform presentations (oral and poster) by the same speaker will be accepted.

    Submit your abstract.

  • Draft paper submission

Draft papers must not be longer than 8 pages including graphs, tables and figures.

All submissions must follow the formatting guidelines. Papers that do not follow these guidelines may be rejected.

These templates are already set with the correct page size, fonts, line spacing and margins, as required by the ORC2027 proceedings. Do not modify the template (line spacing, margins etc).

  • Revised paper submission

The final papers must not be longer than 10 pages including graphs, tables and figures, in order to address the reviewers’ comments adequately. The other requirements and rules for the formatting of draft papers apply to final papers.

When submitting your revised paper, please ensure you also include a rebuttal.

  • Poster submission

Authors may choose either an oral presentation or a poster presentation. Contributions presented as posters require submission of an extended abstract (up to four pages), which will be published in the conference proceedings.

The same template available for draft papers must be used, with the only exception the number of pages, which is now limited to four. Posters must be in portrait format.

Industry and deployment submissions

This track is intended for shorter contributions focused on industrial deployment, commercialisation, industrial case-studies, operational aspects and end-user experiences. Contributions from OEMs, project developers, utilities, operators, industrial end-users and other stakeholders are particularly encouraged.

While the focus of these submissions should be on industrial and deployment aspects, submissions that are highly commercial in nature and do not provide useful insights to the community will not be considered. Accepted technical briefs may be published in the conference proceedings at the discretion of the authors.

  • Submission process and important dates
    • abstract submission deadline – 27  November 2026
    • notification of abstract acceptance – 18 December 2026
    • technical brief submission – 26 February 2027
    • notification of review results – 16 April 2027
    • final submission – 2 July 2027.

Dates are provisional and may change.

  • Abstract submission

Abstracts for industry and deployment submissions should also be submitted through Conftool, using the dedicated submission track.

Submitted abstracts should briefly outline the main issues addressed within the submission, including key results and findings, as well as their general significance.

    Submit your abstract.

  • Technical brief submission

Following acceptance of the abstract, authors will be invited to submit a technical brief of up to four pages. Technical briefs should focus on industrial deployment, operational experience, project development, commercialisation, case studies and lessons learned.

All submissions must follow the same formatting guidelines as for research papers. Submissions that do not follow these guidelines may be rejected.

These templates are already set with the correct page size, fonts, line spacing and margins, as required by the ORC2027 proceedings. Do not modify the template (line spacing, margins etc).

  • Final technical brief submission

Submissions will be reviewed for relevance, technical quality and value to the ORC community. The review process is intended to ensure high-quality contributions while recognising the different nature of industrial and deployment-focused submissions.

Authors will be requested to submit a final version of their submission that addresses any comments raised during the review process.

Conference awards

Following past ORCs, a €2,000 award will also be given to the best paper from the conference. The best paper will be selected based on the reviewers comments and recommendations, as well as feedback from the Session Chairs after the conference.

The Prof. Gianfranco Angelino Best Poster Award (€2000) will honour the merit of work conducted within the scope of research and development on ORC Power Systems technology. The scientific committee will select the recipient of the Award based on the examination of the posters displayed during the poster session(s) and upon discussions with the author/authors present during the sessions.
