Where does agency lie in the transition to a more sustainable society? Pathways to sustainability take different forms, from more top-down initiatives by governments and international organisations to more bottom-up initiatives led by communities. From the development of technologies and efforts to address their social and environment risks, to community-based cooperation to address land degradation, to contestations over national-level climate policy in different countries, these Professorial talks will explore different sites of change and forms of action towards a more sustainable future.
Join the Sussex School for Progressive Futures for this free lecture series, celebrating the appointment of our newest professors from across the University. In this event, we explore the transformational theme of Environmental Sustainability from different perspectives, sparking bold, interdisciplinary conversations.
At this event we will hear from:
- Adrian Ely, Professor of Professor of Technology and Sustainability at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), University of Sussex Business School
- Anna Rabinovich, Professor of Social Psychology and Sustainability, Faculty of Science, Engineering and Medicine
- Matthew Lockwood, Professor of Energy and Climate Policy at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), University of Sussex Business School
The talks will be followed by refreshments in the foyer in celebration of our newly appointed colleagues.
All are welcome.
