Staff from the University of Sussex School of Business, Management and Economics (BMEc) teamed up with colleagues from the School of Engineering and Informatics to advise job seekers at the Wired Sussex Talent2017 Jobs Fair in Brighton in March 2017.
The three-day event, held this year from 15-17 March with sponsorship from the University of Sussex, is designed to help businesses and organisations in the area attract, train and retain the talent they need to thrive in the digital, creative and tech sector.
Sussex staff from the two Schools spoke to job seekers and representatives from local business during the Jobs Fair on 15 March about how to take advantage of the University’s expertise in digital business, which includes opportunities for collaborative research projects, consultancy and professional development via Masters courses and the Sussex MBA.
The next day of the festival was the Skills Summit, a one-day conference of talks and case studies around skills development. BMEc Business Liaison Manager Kate Thorpe was pleased to have the opportunity to speak about how can businesses and the University can work together to improve skills, leadership trends and research.
